How can I get my Congregation Involved?

Habitat Orlando Builds on Faith with a diverse range of faith-based groups of all denominations to build common ground by sharing our vision of a world without poverty housing.  Habitat Orlando has many ways for congregational groups to partner with us:

• Congregations may raise the funds and provide the labor to sponsor a home. That is, a congregation may sponsor a house individually or join with another congregation to raise the money and build a house together.
• Congregations may participate in Building on Faith Events.
• Congregations may make cash donations, offer in-kind goods and services, provide food for workers or support building projects in other ways.
• Congregations may send a group of volunteers out one time or on a regular (weekly, monthly) basis to help construct a home.
• Congregations can host speakers on housing issues—including representatives from Habitat Orlando — to raise awareness of the need for decent housing.
• Churches can sponsor an event, a mailing or fundraiser for Habitat Orlando.
• Congregations can support Habitat Orlando events by publicizing and attending Habitat events throughout the year.
