Construction Committee

This committee discusses the progress of the homes under construction and learns skills for the construction of new homes. This committee member has the potential to become a construction crew leader on the job site on Saturdays. This committee meets the 1st Thursday at 6:00 pm and works at the various job sites on Saturdays from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm. For information call Terry Eckert at 407-298-4807.

Young Professional Committee

The young professional committee is committed to serving as advocates for the mission of Habitat Orlando. This committee member is dedicated to cultivating professioanl relationships, innovative fundraising strategies, attending monthly networking events and monthly committee meetings. This committee serves as advocates in the community soliciting support from corporations, individuals, civic groups, churches, and foundations. Family Selection Committee

This committee selects the families who become partners with Habitat-Orlando, through the process of screening the applications, going on home visits to meet the applicants and explain more thoroughly Habitat for Humanity and witness the conditions they live in. The committee member presents the applicant to the committee and assists in the process of accepting or rejecting the applicant. This committee meets the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm. Finance Committee

This committee is responsible for shaping the financial strategy of Habitat Orlando. This committee works in conjunction with Development and Land Acquisition to ensure the best stewardships of donations and strategic expenditures. Committee members have diverse backgrounds in investments, law, banking, accounting, land development and strategic planning, among others. Typical topics include land acquisition, leveraging strategies, investment opportunities and foundations/grants. Open to anyone with an interest, this group meets the 1^st Wednesday every other month at 12:30 pm - (February 4, April 1, June 3, August 5, Oct 7, Dec 2) of each month at 12:30 pm. Land Acquisition Committee

Responsible for finding, procuring and obtaining clear title to building sites in accordance with goals / budgets set by the Board. This committee will assist in reploting / rezoning of lots when necessary. For information call Greg Allen at 407-648-4567 ext 413.
